Reports are an important part of your testing process.
PractiTest helps you to create reports with the use of professionally-predefined templates, and taking advantage of the views and folders you already use as part of your regular process.

Accessing the Report Center

To access your existing reports or create new ones, go to the Report Center link on the top right of your screen.

Report Center

Once in the Report Center you can see all the reports already available in your project.
For each report you can see all its relevant information.
For example:
- Name
- Entity (Issue / Test / Requirement)
- View (or folder) used to create the report
- Report Type (see below)
- Status (Completed / In process)

Report List

When you create a new report it is generated and stored for future reference. This means that you can create reports not only to display the current status of your project, but also to serve as snapshots to be accessed for future reference and auditing purposes.
You can also choose whether you want to edit or delete you existing reports, or use one of your reports as a template to create new one based on the update information.

Report Types

You can generate reports for each of your entities: Issues, Tests, and Reports; and based on 3 different templates, providing distinct perspectives into your project.

1. Tabular Report – displaying a table with all the information based on the columns selected in your view.
2. Traceability Report – giving a traceability perspective based on the entity and view selected.
3. Detailed Report – providing all the information for the entities based on the view (and the filter) chosen.

Creating & Editing Reports

For each of your reports you should provide a descriptive name that will help you understand the information stored in it. Try not using generic names such as “Issues Report” since other people, or even you in a future time, will not be able to differentiate between your existing reports.
Additionally you need to choose the Entity for the report; choosing between Issues, Tests or Requirements.
After you have chosen the entity you can select the view (or folder) to use as the base to filter your data.
And finally you need to choose the type of report you want to generate.
